S O R CSORCSORC

Character Creation

Character creation in SORC begins at the table by selecting a race and class, then allocating Attributes using a combination of dice rolls and point spending. As characters level up, players repeat this process to unlock talents, skills, and Traits (TSTs), tracked through the character's album and profile pages.

Characters also develop rank as they progress in class level. Inventory tracks items without penalty up to encumbrance limits. Each character is assigned a unique ID for online tracking, trading, and achievements.

Character Sheets

  • Character Profile Sheet - Displays key details such as name, race, class, level, and vital statistics, portrait, background, mission statement, and prestige.
  • Lore Sheet - Contains background story, mission statement, home logs, family logs, quest logs, vital info, archives, personal notes, maps, locations, and Wayfarer Watch logs.

Prestige

A character's Prestige measures their identity and reflects how the world perceives them - how NPCs, creatures, and other players respond. It begins developing early based on the character's profile and evolves through feats, downfalls, choices, and interactions. Titles (Boasted and Shamed), reputation, faction affiliation, and legacy all contribute to Prestige.

Religion & Politics

Faith is determined by background by default, but players may choose their own faith or play as an atheist. Players can engage with in-world politics, elections, and the ongoing war between the Noble and Purge forces - or remain entirely ambivalent.

Playable Races - Overview

Choose from 40 races and sub-races across three size categories: Goliath, Standard, and Small. Each race has innate Trait bonuses and penalties. Culture is determined by the player's chosen background and does not change base stats - every human begins with the same stats regardless of culture. Races in grey text are not available for the beginner set.
